Holiday Schmoliday!

One of the many things about the holidays is the music. Everywhere you go, the mall, school holiday pageants, starbucks... etc. There's good old "Jingle Bells" and "Santa Baby" sung by different artists. However, one song is kick ass and I can always listen to year round. Check out the hair! AND can you count how many have been arrested?? They should have Hugh Grant do a cameo! I love his dance moves.

Row, big sis. I remember you rocking this song over 20 years ago. I thought about all the good things you did this year. Hopefully it runs in the family and the rest of the Ips get out there. I know I will. Love you Rowdeezy.

P.S. Where is Nick Rhodes??? Can you believe your love in the 80s meets up with your love of the 2000s.. JT.

Proud Mommy moment! So, I work for a toy company and they are promoting a contest.
They needed some samples to promote so there was a mini internal company wide contest. So, why not enter! Here's my two fave kiddies of the world rocking out.

I love the holidays. Every year I wait for the one thing that helps me launch me into the holidays season. If you haven't seen it, here's a mini clip.

Happy Slapsgiving!

Party all the time! Ooh we like to party all the time!

San Diego had no idea what hit it this weekend...
Ronnie and his hot hot hot robe.

Not only did we hit the town but SD had some other visitors.
We met our new friends at the nightly wine happy hour in our hotel.

Halloween 2007

This Halloween was great! Took my pumpking carving up a notch. A contest at work lit the fire under my ass. But, I didn't win. Some lame person that carved our company logo won. How fucking lame. Didn't even consider the fact that their pumpkin was starting to get dried out and wrinkly. The other winner used a black sharpie marker and drew one of our company characteres. Spot, the dog. No comment. The third winner was well deserved. It was a BIG HUGE pumpkin and she made it a jail cell for a mini pumpking. No company theme. Just great creativity. I submitted two entries. One under my name and the other under my co-workers name. I like my pumpkins and I thought they deserve some recognition.

Rotting Baby Pumpkin... only the mice like the baby.

Snowman missing his corn cob pipe.

Halloween is one of my favorite days of the year. It's the kick off for the holiday craze.

Rj and Reese had a great time!

A knight and his shining... ladybug.

FYI - On Halloween eve, I made 16 treat bags for Rj's Preschool, carved two AWESOME, KICKASS pumpkins and made a company team costume. I'm AWESOME.

Hugs and Kisses

LA or Bust!

We were southbound on late Friday night, not my ideal time. But Ronnie made it up by getting us to Simi Valley in 4 and 1/2 hours. Thankfully Jason was out still partying for Danny's birthday cause Michelle was still awake waiting for him.

We had nothing special planned that weekend except for some good QT with our little cuties ( excuse the pun ).

We took our time getting the kids ready ( we were able to squeeze in a mini photoshoot)

and visited the Kidspace museum in Pasadena. It was a beautiful day! Ronnie and I saw something we never seen before, the Rose Bowl. We didn't watch a game or anything. But, driving by was good enough. hahaha Do they play football in there? I know, J-LO performed there once. Right?

Sadly, our weekend went by fast! Some shopping here... some shopping there. Bam! It was back on the good ole I-5. As fast as we found ourselves going south bound, we were now headed north bound. We miss our socal family! But the holidays are coming up and we'll get our chances to see them soon enough.

Run ERICA Run!!

So, I did it. It took me awhile. But I did it. 13.1 miles. When you say it out loud, it doesn't seem very far. But when mile 11 starts curving into Golden Gate Park, I think IS THIS HELL OVER!?!

Some thoughts and highlights of my run???

1. MR. Taxicab driver, thank you. Sorry, I had only $7.00 and I didn't have anything else besides a $50. That's how I roll!

2. Stretching in the lobby of the St. Francis hotel lobby at 6am.

3. Reading all the different signs and tearing up ( i'm a crier), "In honor of...", "In memory of..." " RIP..."

4. Watching the crazy loonies just throwing away their sweatshirts on the streets of San Francisco. You must have known you'd get hot during a marathon race!!

5. When was the last time I was at Baker Beach? Ocean Beach? or at the Cliffhouse restaurant?

6. Fuck my god damn iPod mini. Dieing out on me at Mile 3 (yes! I charged it!!) It's a conspiracy! You just want me to purchase the new nano!! ok. I will.

( Shout out to Pink, JT, Kelly C. for getting me pumped the during the 3 miles. Wish you were there for the rest of the 10 miles.) You know how people throw away their sweatshirts??? I wanted to chuck my mini into the Aquatic Park! Screw those crazy swimmers.!

but seriously.

7. My sister for being my unofficial trainer. I still haven't figured out why my toes cramp right after mile 2 and stop at mile 6!??! Next year. You and Me. You won't be waiting for me at the finish line. We will be crossing together.

Last but not least....

8. My RJAs... They kept me going... knowing they'd be there for me. This big huge event and Mommy was a part of it. Rj saw this tent and couldn't believe it.

I ran for me. 20, 000+ women (minus the 542 lame men) ran over 260,000+ miles together. All at different paces, finish times and reasons. But WE did it together. To my Girly Girls and their families. ( Shot out to Derrick for shouting out my name the last 50 yards). WE DID IT!!! Are we seriously going to do it again????

Move those feet. Don't stop! You've got another 13.08 miles to go!!

Haha

That's what will be going through my mind at 6:30am Sunday morning.
Wish me luck my friends... I am participating in Nikes Woman's Half Marathon.
They have branded me #6690... that's right. Watch for me.

Goal? To complete without the Nike people picking me up telling me the race is over.
I will look for my son's pretty poster he made for me, pass the finish line and collect my pretty blue Tiffanys box. Cause... god damn it. I deserve it. Moments like this I think. Damn, why didn't I train harder?

See you at the finish line!

Sugar and Spice weekend....
As Fall rolls around I'm preparing my family to embrace it. Putting away the flip flops, tanks and swimsuits. Taking out the sweaters, hoodies and thick wool socks. On Friday, it rained. It rained like cats and dogs. I knew my family was safe and dry that day. But, I couldn't say that about my sister. Row, went sailing in the bay that morning. What a way to start a three day sailing trip. She's a trooper. SHOUT OUT TO ROW! Sorry we weren't there to greet you in Sausalito.

Thankfully, the rain passed and the rest of the weekend was beautiful. On Saturday, we started the day with getting the kids Halloween costumes. Rj and Reese had a blast trying on all the different costumes... stay tuned to see what they picked.
Saturday evening we watched two of our very good friends get married. What a night!
The night ended on Telegraph scarfing down Top Dog and Blondie's pizza. We mourned with the Cal students as earlier in the evening the Bears lost to Oregon State. Now, instead of #1 they are #10... poo. Can't wait til next week!
Reese also enjoyed her 1st cookie, milkshake and scrambled eggs.
California thanks for giving us rain, sun and LOVE this weekend. SHOUT OUT TO CALI!!!
